You can take an IELTS test on paper or on a computer at one of our official test centres in India.

IELTS on computer
You will answer the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on a computer at one of our official test centres. The Speaking test will still be face-to-face with a trained IELTS Examiner, as this is the most effective way to assess your speaking skills.
With computer-delivered IELTS, you will now have more test dates to choose from - and your results will be available in 3-5 days.

IELTS on paper
If you choose this option, you will write the answers to the Listening, Reading and Writing sections on paper. The Speaking test will be conducted face-to-face with a trained IELTS Examiner.
Your results will be available after 13 calendar days from the test date.
If you have any special requirements, you should take the paper-based test.

What do you need to book a test?
1. A valid ID. When you register, you’ll need to upload a scan of your passport. It must be valid at the time of booking and on the test day. If you're under 18 your parents will also need to complete the Parent consent for candidates under 18 form. IELTS is not recommended for anyone under 16.
2. A bank card. You can pay through our online booking system or in cash at an ICICI bank or through Demand Draft. Find out more about how to pay.
